Texas legend's confidence in "Fuzzi"

Ivan "Fuzzi" Rodriguez, a Texas Rangers legend and member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, expressed confidence in his team.

Rodriguez expressed strong confidence in the team in an interview ahead of the first round of the World Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, on the 28th, saying, "We all feel that this is the year."

Rodriguez made his big league debut with Texas in 1991 and played in Texas for 13 seasons until 2002. During this period, the team never made it to the World Series. He then advanced to the 2010 and 2011 World Series but remained in second place.

Rodriguez said, "This is the team I've grown since 1988. And so far, the stadium has changed and it has been good to watch the team grow in various ways. It is also cool that there are only four wins left to win the trophy. I'm not even a player of this team right now, but I feel like I'm part of the team," he said. 스포츠토토

"I'm working for the club as a fan outside now, but we all feel that this is the 'year.' It feels like the time is right. These players are playing in the right direction. In every aspect of offense, defense, and pitching. He's showing very good performance in the postseason as well. Bochy told his players, 'Keep doing what you were doing. The defense is sending a message saying, "Don't give the opponent an extra chance by mistake." If we can do that, we'll be fine," he continued.

When and at what point did he feel this year was the 'year'?

"I've seen him since spring camp. "I expected Bochy to be a very good team when he became the team's coach," he said.

As for Bochy, he said, "He likes players. He is someone who supports the culture of the team, supports the players, and never gives up. If the team follows such a person properly, good things will happen," he said.

"Throughout the season, we've watched 162 games experience ups and downs. Injuries, sluggishness, and consecutive losses followed. But each time it did, it bounced back. I think this is a very good point. Fast-forward from the slump and back to a level where he can compete again. That's why we're here," he said, praising the rebound.

He contributed to the victory of the Florida Marlins in 2003, saying, "I would be very happy if the Texas Rangers win the World Series this year. I always wanted to see Texas win the World Series. And now there are only four wins left. Winning four games in the World Series is no easy task. It's a completely different baseball. But we have a team that can win," he said, wishing Texas a victory.

He also expressed his thoughts on Jonah Haim, a former catcher and now the team's main catcher. "I can't believe it. He's a good hitter, but his defense is more impressive. It is impressive to see him leading the pitcher, blocking, throwing, and predicting the game situation. In particular, the ability to read the game situation is something that cannot be taught separately. He's got that kind of thing," he said.

"I'll be honest, but sometimes I think catchers are the most undervalued positions in baseball. "I think Texas is one of the biggest reasons for being here," he said, adding, "For me, the MVP is Jonah."

He is scheduled to receive the first pitch thrown by former President George Bush on the same day.

Asked if he had any advice he wanted to give to former President Bush, he replied, "Please don't stick it in the ground."
